This project grew out of a need among the craft businesses we are supporting. With their work expanding, we thought some would need specialists who can help finish their textiles and traditional Sadu weaving.

A dedicated sewing workshop offers a practical complementary way to meet this requirement. The Sadu finishers would add value to the original producers, giving their product the expert finishing touches needed to turn a woven piece into a final work of heritage art.

We were drawn to the connection this creates between small businesses. A service that gives one person an opportunity to earn can also help other artisans improve the finish of their work.

For us, this is a promising way for our projects to grow together, with the skills of one supporting the work of others.
